Smithies Karaoke & DJ Hire grew from a passion for music, karaoke and bringing people together. What started as entertainment for local events developed into a dedicated entertainment service based in Bundaberg, Queensland.

Growing the service
Smithies expanded beyond karaoke to offer DJ hire, weddings, school events, community events, private celebrations and event entertainment, supported by professional equipment and a strong focus on customer service.
Community matters
Smithies has built strong connections with local community events, schools and inclusive activities, including All Abilities Karaoke. Creating entertainment that people of different ages and abilities can enjoy is an important part of what Smithies stands for.

CEO & Founder
Wade Smith is the CEO and founder of Smithies Karaoke & DJ Hire.
Wade leads the business with a strong focus on customer service, event entertainment and creating experiences people remember. He is involved in the planning, operation and continued development of Smithies and its services.
Wade lives with several disabilities and health challenges, including:
- Severe Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy
- Severe Speech Impediment
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Right Leg Ischemic Injury
These challenges are part of Wade's story, but they do not define what he can achieve. They do not stop Wade. He continues to lead Smithies Karaoke & DJ Hire, build the business, serve customers and pursue new opportunities with determination and resilience.
Wade's lived experience has also strengthened Smithies' commitment to accessibility, inclusion and making entertainment welcoming for people of all ages and abilities. This is reflected in the business's community work and All Abilities Karaoke events.
Behind the scenes, Wade continues to develop the business, its technology and its customer experience — including the Smithies Customer Portal, designed to make event planning and communication easier for customers.
